On the plus side, we really like its design and appreciate how well it has been engineered to work as a tablet PC. If you want some hands-on time with the tablet you will have to wait until March when they hit retail stores. But its compact form and portability are offset by poor battery life that demands a bigger and heavier battery if not multiples thereof or a big external battery pack. For the time being, AMD processors are your only option, which is fine for running basic office applications and tablet software, but they tend to produce more heat than their low-voltage Intel competitors. Although, I have calibrated the touch panel several times, I find it not to be as accurate as the tx The active digitizer works with the older ARTz pens I have not tested an Intuos Wacom pen yet so I guess it has levels of pressure sensitivity I said guess.
Battle of the Pavilions, HP tx vs. tx
The fact that its screen can be rotated and flipped into tablet mode means its ideal for use in cramped spaces or while standing up. The Nvidia Go graphics will be a disappointment to some, but still work fine, just no hard-core gaming. I have to use secondary portrait mode to avoid the fingerprint scanner. PCMark05 measures the systems performance as a whole.
Once again no recovery disks. I also like the durable finish they have, which is good for preserving the keyboard from those greasy fingers.

The right shift key on the tx is full sized, but the keys make a light clicking sound when pressed, which can be annoying. Front view of the tx Wacon pen has nice feedback and is easy to navigate with, but if you like using your finger then you ttx2000 use it to navigate through windows as well. It uses the smaller 34 size like the txau. The notion of a Tablet PC for home use is something that is still in its infancy, largely due to tablets being seen as business tools and the fact there are very few consumer applications for the Tablet PC.

HP gave this model just what it needed. With a more consistent method of transcribing penstrokes to electronic letters, HP will have a real hit on their hands.

The active digitizer and touchscreen make eacom a true tablet PC now, but it still maintains the entertainment notebook status unlike any other model on the market at this time. The fan does get a bit loud when it kicks on during benchmarking, but besides that the tx runs fairly quiet.

Speeds on paper are similar, but the tx does seem faster. Calibrating the pen and the screen helped, although the hand writing recognition software found it difficult to read my handwriting.
